I read about the Etsy inspired challenge here

The first challenge I completed was to be inspired by LaurenAlexander.  I fell in love with her Sweet Tree art.

Here is what I came up with:

I had fun using my punches and a variety of pens and chalks.  I just love how it speaks to nature and life- well to me anyways!  It became part of a larger set-dsc_4827_resize

This is my version of my mission statement for my ever improving studio as I strive to finish my GOBI (Get organized, be inspired) class of organizing my creative space.  Here is the rest of the wall, taken with the sun streaming in my glass block windows- hence the funky lighting!

Well, many thanks to my wonderful dh for all his help in the renovation of this room.  This weekend he finished the ceiling and the lighting!  Now I have to get to work on painting, painting & painting!  I have walls to paint, furniture to paint and shelves to paint.

dsc_4722_resizeThe white wall in this picture will be painted tangerine as well.  I need to finish patching where we took out the wall heater that did not work. I know I will love the track lighting- will get more lights as I set the room up and see where they are needed!

dsc_4724_resizeThis wall will get repainted white- there were dark shutters over the windows, larger than the windo itself, which I took down, and now need to paint the dark paneling that was here when we moved in.  I am going to rehang shelves on this wall near the tangerine wall and will put all my stamps there.  I had them in a bookcase at the end of my work table, but got tired of sitting on the floor finding and putting away- this area should be much better.

dsc_4723_resizeThe counter under the window will be my sewing area- I think if my machine is out, I might actually use it!  The counter on the far wall – well office area and on the shelves above I will store my memorabila and photos!

That is it for todays update.  I hope to post pics of this again next weekend- lets see what I can accomplish after work this week!
