Yesterday was my pamper me day, something I do not do often enough. I went shopping and to lunch at the Morgan House with my friend Anna. Anna will be moving to Cincy area soon so I want to spend time with her as much as our busy lives allow before she does. We shopped, ate a scrumptious lunch, talk about presentation, they certainly know how to do that, and then shopped some more. One of the great finds of the day was the incredible growing sweater- it looked like a child’s top in the fashion room, but grew to tremendous proportions- it fit me. I mulled it over as a possible purchase while eating lunch. Afterwords I decided that it would be a great coverup to my sleeveless dress I am wearing out on New Years Eve. Here are some pages I scrapped about the day:

For details on the digiscrap files used click the photos to be take to the Oscraps gallery where they are uploaded. Enjoy your day and your friends!

I haven’t played with any challenges in a long time. However with 12 days off- I am itching to craft. I loved exploring Mountain Gypsy Handbags, LLC for some inspiration. I really need to save my money for one of her bags- I love them, and I am sure my camera will be happy living there! I was inspired by the following bags:

I needed to cover the ugly front of one of those pocket/purse calenders you use for writing stuff down when you are away from home. I was inspired by brown and aqua colors as well as by the swirl pattern. I think my son’s gf will enjoy this- for those times when her blackberry is not working right!

Cardstock is SU chocolate chip and an old in color- cool carribean. I used the swirl folder of my cuttlebug, and the Oliva alpha. I highlighted the swirls with chocolate chip ink, and used tiny crystals at the bottom. It was fun to craft when I was not exhausted!
You can enter the challenge too! All the details are here!

It has been way to long since I blogged. But I wanted to share a card that I have been itching to make. I love fall and scarecrows. Back in NY I used to drive by a farm with a scarecrow in the cornfield. It was mechanical and many days it waved it’s hand at me. I loved driving by. When I saw this card I knew I wanted to try that simple yet effective layout. First I had to get the spellbinders label 8 nestabilities. They arrived on Saturday, and this card was born.

I used a retired StampinUp set called Happy Fall Y’all, colored the image with colored pencils and OMS, title is Just Rite Stampers and ribbon was some I had received in a swap years ago- goes great with the fall colors. I can’t wait to make some more fall cards!

This week we get to visit bealoo’s shop. Her shop is full of art for kids. I really like the boys on snowboards and skateboards, reminded me of my oldest when he was growing up, but I wasn’t sure i could find the photos to do a scrap page. So I found Dreamy Dragonfly original art that also inspired me. I have a dragonfly stamp or two that hadn’t been inked in a while. I also wanted to try this technique from Julie Buhler. I save all my acetate packaging to recycle into future window cards or crafts. When cleaning out my studio I found some art institute fine glitter that I knew would make a wonderful addition to my card.
The base is GKD base white. I also used a purple from club scrap, and always artichoke and orchid opulence from SU. I used the markers to match for the flower stamp from GKD. Other stamps are from ClubScrap and another stamp company for the dragonflies, Sparkle is from SU. I used fiskars border punch and my oval plain and scallop nesties. The glitter is on the back of the stamped design, held on with crystal effects.

I couldn’t figure out how to get this in my sidebar- so I am giving it top billing-click on it to go to the site. Read below- I only just discovered this site, but the things I have learned from meandering through – wow- cuttlebug, not just for cards anymore!

I am not sure I can figure out how to keep this on top- but if I can- I will- hope to see you there!
